Narrative Essay Examples - What Is These Prewritten Paragraphs For?Students writing a narrative essay need to have some narrative essay samples and plot devices to get their plot going. In most cases, students will develop a plot on their own, but the following paragraphs will help you develop a plot with some of the more common plot devices in a narrative. By having these plans, you can speed up the process and make it more realistic to create a believable plot for your narrative essay. The first plot device is of course the introduction, or opening paragraph. If you are writing a literary style, then this paragraph is usually known as a prologue, although they can also be used for a factual essay. This paragraph can introduce the characters in the story, the setting, and the reason the plot is happening. This paragraph can also be used to introduce the conflict that will be the focus of the rest of the essay. The second paragraph of a narrative essay is called the development paragra ph. This is where the character's plot begins to unfold. By adding events, dialogue, or something else to the paragraph, you can make it flow into the next paragraph and make the next paragraph better. The third paragraph is the payoff plot. This is where the main action occurs, where everything comes together and the plot has a final conclusion. For example, if you are writing about an English student discovering the meaning of his life, then this will be the payoff paragraph. The fourth paragraph of a narrative is known as the chapter end. This is where the conclusion of the chapter occurs. Many writers like to skip this paragraph and continue on to the next chapter, but it is recommended that you include it as this will help to develop the arc of the story. This paragraph is also known as the conflict page. The fifth paragraph is called the resolution and is where the conflict is resolved. This paragraph will explain how the conflict was resolved and what happened after the conflict was resolved. Some examples of resolutions include the protagonist accepting defeat, quitting the sport, and changing their name to avoid people from knowing who they are.The sixth paragraph is known as the conclusion. This is where the last step of the story occurs and the arc of the story is complete. It will usually include a sign of resolution that is a turning point or a moment when the conflict is settled and the main character moves on.Narrative essays can be great to write when you are writing for high school or college. Narrative essays can be very difficult because the writer must focus on creating a story and not be concerned with what is happening in the real world.
